Prep for success – your way

You do not need a perfect plan, and you don’t have to figure it all out at once. A few small steps can help you feel steadier, more ready and in control.

6 small steps to get ready to quit

1. List Your Reasons for Quitting

Write down why you want to quit. Keep it somewhere you’ll see it when cravings hit.

2. Spot Your Triggers

What makes you reach for a smoke, vape or chew? Stress, certain places, feelings or even people?

3. Cravings? Take 5.

  • Take a short walk or do a breathing exercise.
  • Text a friend for support.
  • Try beading, carving or spending time on the land.
  • Step outside for fresh air.

4. Build Your Support Crew

Let friends, family or a Quitpath coach know what you are doing. Their encouragement and check-ins can make a big difference.

5. Pick Your Quit Date

Choose a day that feels right. Mark it on your calendar and prepare your space and mind for the change.

6. Clear the Clutter

Toss out anything that reminds you of smoking, vaping or using tobacco: lighters, ashtrays, vapes or hidden stashes.

Did you know? People who make a quit plan are more likely to succeed.
